We are excited to announce this new opportunity for senior adults to get involved in the fun that happens at Northpark Studio! In January, we will be offering this acting class at a discounted rate specifically for seniors on Thursdays at 11:00am.
Acting can offer many benefits to seniors. According to Scripps Affiliated Medical Groups, “acting has been shown to improve cognition and increase social engagement in seniors." This class will focus on characterization and delivery, using an interpreter’s theatre model, so no one has to be concerned about memorizing lots of lines. We plan to take our talents into the Jackson area senior community so that we can share the benefits with others.
The class will be led by Keith Davis, a long-time friend and vocal student here at Northpark Studio. Keith has a background in dance, music and theatre and is also well-known at The Lift, where he leads many senior adults in group fitness offerings, specializing in a holistic body, mind, and spirit approach—making him the perfect choice to lead in this new venture!
Holiday Tip: This may be the perfect gift for someone who doesn’t need another “thing” to take up space in the house. You can register your friend or loved one today!
